MVPD

 

9/11/17 - At 12:49 AM an officer responded to a fire complaint in the area of 305 Fountain St. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The suspect is unknown at this time. Items were recovered from the fire and secured at the police department. These items include one orange cloth item with gold metal attached, one chain necklace, and one Fabware knife. The fire caused some damage to the vegetation near the river behind 305 Fountain St. No charges have been filed at this time. Read more on this story here.

9/11/17 - Crenos Pizza reported they received an order for a pizza to be delivered to a W. Pleasant St. residence. They reported this because they had a similar situation at the same address recently and the male subject tendered a counterfeit $100 bill at that time. The investigation continues.

9/11/17 - An officer met with the complainant at a Greenwood Ave. residence in reference to a theft of a bicycle from her property. The complainant advised the bicycle was on loan from her brother and it was last seen in her garage Saturday night. The complainant advised the officer that she was sure the garage was secure. However, there were no signs of forced entry and nothing else was reported taken. Security cameras on the exterior of the residence were said to be out of position to show where the bicycle was stored. The bike is described as a 26" Genesis V21009 men's mountain bike, blue and black in color. The bike is reported to have a value of $149.00 and has two after-market lights mounted on the frame. The bike also has disc brakes and loose handle bars. There are no suspects at this time.

9/2/17 - Lisa Rohal, 28, Howard was arrested on 2 warrants for probation violations.

9/11/17 - Steven Thompson, 24, Follin Ave. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation and for running a red light.

9/11/17 - Gage Davis, 21, S. Adams St. was cited for driving under FRA suspension and for expired or unlawful plates.

9/11/17 - Ryan Dewyze, 34, E. Ohio Ave. was arrested on one count of criminal simulation for passing a counterfeit $100 bill.

 

9/8/17 - At approximately 1:52 PM, an officer was dispatched to a Yauger Rd. address on a reported theft of a TV from the building's lobby. There are no suspects at this time.

9/8/17 - A theft of two DVD's valued at $130 was reported to the MVPD.

9/9/17 - An officer was dispatched to Clarence Ct. on a report of an assault between two females. A report was taken and no other information is available at this time.

9/9/17 - Two officers responded to a W. Chestnut St. address in reference to a burglary. A 17-year-old male stated he was locked out of the residence and his parents were out of town. He stated that while in front of the residence, he noticed someone run past him and to the back of the residence. A short time later, the juvenile noticed the back door of the residence was broken. The officer checked the area and it did not appear anyone went in or out of the residence using the rear door due to the fact there was a lot of dust and oil from a washing machine covering the floor.

9/10/17 - Two officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment on Follin Ave. A male subject was removed from the residence and taken to Knox Community Hospital for treatment. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation has been closed.

9/10/17 - An officer was dispatched to a business on Coshocton Ave. on a report of a suspicious male. A report was taken.

8/22/17 - Lee Cisler, 33, Fairgrounds Rd. was charged on an outstanding warrant.

9/6/17 - Christopher Trice, 29, address unknown, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

9/7/17 - Demetrice Tate, 33, W. Vine St. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

9/8/17 - Brenda Poole, 59, was cited for traffic control terms.

9/9/17 - Kara Haldeman, 31, Calhoun St. was cited for failure to stop after a crash on the street.

9/9/17 - Kera Brasseur, 22, Third Ave. was cited for driving under FRA suspension.

9/9/17 - Matthew Bricking, 21, Vincent Rd., was charged with offenses involving underage persons.

9/9/17 - Zachary Rhinehart, 19, West Mansfield, OH, was charged with drug abuse and marijuana drug paraphernalia.

9/9/17 - Nathan Byers, 32, Taylor Rd. was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

9/9/17 - Matthew Brown, 21, Newark, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

9/9/17 - William Burke, 37, W. Curtis St. was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant.

9/9/17 - Paige Walker, 26, Frazeysburg, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

9/9/17 - Brian Rose, 45, Wooster Rd. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.

9/10/17 - William Fuller, 35, Greenwood Ave. was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass and obstructing official business.

Traffic accidents

9/8/17 - Edward Lee McManaway was traveling southbound on Walnut Alley, then stopped and attempted to back into a parking spot, striking a vehicle owned by Thomas E. Frye in the attempt. McManaway then pulled forward and parked on the west side of Walnut Alley.

9/9/17 - Kara Haldeman was traveling westbound on W. High St. and struck a vehicle owned by Lisa A. Grace which was parked on the north side of W. High St. in front of the post office. Haldeman was cited for failure to stop after a crash on the street.

9/9/17 - Nicholas Zarley was traveling eastbound on E. Ohio Ave. Nathan A. Byers was traveling eastbound on E. Ohio Ave. Zarley turned southbound into an alley and was rear-ended by Byers. Byers was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

9/9/17 - Matthew D. Brown and Eric L. Nelson were stopped northbound on Newark Rd. at Blackjack Rd. Brown indicated his foot slipped off the brake causing his vehicle to roll forward and strike the rear end of Nelson's vehicle.

KCSO

9/11/17 - A complainant called the KCSO and advised dispatch that property belonging to Utica High School was stolen from her son's backpack which was at East Knox High School. A statement was filed and a report completed for documentation.

9/11/17 - Dispatch advised an officer of a possible burglary in progress on Horn Rd. in Gambier. Four officers responded to the incident location because of the possibility of the burglary being in progress. No other information is available at this time.

9/11/17 - The complainant reported that unknown person(s) broke into her vehicle - parked at Wyandot Golf and Dining on Columbus Rd. - by smashing a window and removing personal property. She requested the incident be documented.

KCSO

9/8/17 - Two deputies were sent to a Roosevelt Ave. address. There they arrested Edward James Folk and charged him with possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia.

9/9/17 - An officer was dispatched to a Shadley Valley Rd. address. The complainant advised that her husband went outside that morning to find their front yard "turfed." There is no known suspect.

9/9/17 - The complainant advised he was traveling on Big Run Rd. when the windshield of his car was hit by a stone, causing damage.

9/11/17 - An officer was dispatched to a Harcourt Rd. address. Sarah Kemp stated she believed her mother or mother-in-law was trying to video tape her from another room. Kemp was subsequently arrested for obstruction of an officer in the performance of his lawful duties. Also arrested was Jeremy Casler for committing domestic violence.

9/6/17 - An officer was dispatched to a residence on Wooster Rd. in reference to a found syringe. The officer spoke with the complainant who told him he found the syringe near the sidewalk. The officer collected the syringe and placed it into the sharps container in car 4 to be disposed of later. Nothing further to report.

9/6/17 - An officer was dispatched to a business on S. Main St., in reference to a fake $100 bill that was passed. The bill was obtained and placed into evidence. The investigation is pending.

Traffic accident

9/6/17 - Lee W. Luebke was traveling eastbound on S, Main St. approaching the intersection at Newark Rd. Luebke had the green arrow to proceed with his turn onto Newark Rd. Maxine W. Scott was traveling westbound on Mount Vernon Ave. approaching the intersection at Newark Rd. Luebke turned left onto Newark Rd, in the west lane. Scott made a right turn into the west lane and both vehicles struck each other. Both vehicles were moved before police arrived.

9/1/17 - At approximately 2:58 AM, property was turned over to the MVPD. The blue glass pipe was entered into evidence.

9/1/17 - At about 4:41 PM an officer was in the area of 204 Chester St. when he was flagged down by several juveniles. The juveniles told the officer they found Crystal Meth in their back yard near the alley. The officer went to search the area. He discovered 2 hypodermic syringes and placed them into a sharps container. He also found a cigarette wrapper that contained a white crystal-like substance He took possession of the substance and later entered it into evidence to be destroyed. There are no suspects. The case is closed.

9/1/17 - Officers responded to a location on Coshocton Ave. in response to a drug complaint. When the officer arrived, he made contact with two males who matched the description given him. The two males stated that a third male, Tyler Smith was till in the store with stolen merchandise and counterfeit money. Smith came out of the store and the officer found stolen merchandise and counterfeit money was located on Smith. He was subsequently arrested on a parole violation. The officer also issued Smith a citation for criminal simulation.

9/2/17 - An officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business in response to an unconscious individual behind the steering wheel of a car in the parking lot. The Mount Vernon Fire Department Medics arrived at the scene and transported the individual to KCH. A report was forwarded to the County Prosecutor's Office for review.

9/2/17 - At 12:21 PM an officer responded to an N. Sandusky St. location on a drug complaint. A hypodermic syringe was located and secured in a sharps container. There were no charges filed and the investigation has been closed.

9/2/17 - At 2:08 PM an officer responded to S. Mechanic St near W. Vine on a drug complaint. A hypodermic needle was found and secured in a sharps container. No charges were filed and the investigation has been closed.

9/3/17 - An officer was dispatched at about 2:30 AM to an E. Chestnut St. address on a report of a female passed out from extreme intoxication. Upon arrival, the officer identified the individual and determined she was under the age of 21. Medics responded and transported the female to Knox Community Hospital for treatment. The female was issued a summons for underage consumption of alcohol.

9/3/17 - At 2:46 PM an officer responded to an Ash St. address on a vandalism complaint. Evidence was collected at the scene and a written statement obtained from the victim. The investigation is still active and will be updated as it progresses.

9/4./17 - An officer was patrolling in the area of Riverside park and located a gold pipe. The pipe contained marijuana residue. It was placed in the MVPD evidence room to be destroyed later.

9/4/17 - An officer arrived at a Clinton Rd. address on a report of a pit bull attacking a two-year-old in a fenced area. The child was discovered to be unharmed and had been taken from the yard by a neighbor. However, three adults were injured by the animal. Additionally, another dog had been attacked and injured by the same pit bull mix. The injured dog was taken by its owners to a veterinarian for treatment. One adult was transported to Knox Community Hospital for treatment. The pit bull mix was taken by Animal Control. This report will be forwarded to Animal Control and the Knox County Health Department for review. There is nothing further to report at this time.

9/3/17 - A burglary was reported at a Prospect St. address. The complainant advised that when he arrived home from church he discovered his front door had been damaged. the complainant did not find anything missing.

Traffic Accidents

 

9/3/17 - Garret D. Shutler and Kimberly J. Lewis were westbound on Coshocton Ave. Lewis slowed for stopped traffic and Shutler hit Lewis in the rear. Shutler was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

9/3/17 - Gerald L. Mooney was stopped at a stop sign on Shalimar Dr. and Coshocton Ave. He was attempting to make a left turn onto Coshocton Ave. and struck Connie L. Wells, who was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Ave. Mooney was cited for "operation at a stop sign."

9/4/17 - Wayne A. Burns and a vehicle owned by John R. Hatfield were parked on the Phillips Park parking lot. Burns backed for his parking spot and struck Hatfield's vehicle with the rear bicycle rack.

9/5/17 - Christine Puskarich was parked in the 800 block of Coshocton Ave. facing south in a marked parking space. Puskarich found that her vehicle was damaged on the driver side, rear. The unknown driver who caused the damage left the area without leaving any information.
