9/2/17 - Dispatch advised that complainants called and stated that an unknown person or persons stole their log splitter. Deputies responded and spoke to the complainants. The deputies advised the complainants to report any other incidents and advised them that reports would be made.

9/2/17 - A complainant reported to the KCSO that a "Hello City" car was taken from the barn overhang outside.

9/2/17 - A complainant advised that someone pulled out all the rocks and bricks from the fire pit at the rear of the property on Wooster Rd.

9/3/17 - An officer was dispatched to Kenyon College Campus Safety Office to pick up unknown drugs. When the officer arrived he was given a glass smoking pipe with residue inside. The item was collected and placed in evidence to be destroyed.

9/4/17 - Tyler Keith Adams was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was out of the Mount Vernon Municipal Court for failure to appear in court. Adams was transported to the Knox County Jail.

9/4/17 - The complainant advised that unknown person(s) damaged the windshield of his vehicle on Columbus Rd. A report was made to document the incident for insurance purposes.

Knox Co. law reports Sept. 1, 2017

MVPD 

8/30/17 - Officers were dispatched to a W. Vine St. address on a report of domestic violence. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence along with a probation holder.

8/31/17 - An officer was dispatched to a W. Sugar St. address for a vehicle that had been gone through. There are currently no suspects. A report was made for documentation.

8/31/17 - An officer was dispatched to an E. Vine St. address on a report of a parked vehicle blocking a driveway. When the officer arrived at the scene he observed a blue Ford parked, blocking the driveway of the complainant. The officer wrote a parking ticket for the vehicle. The complainant stated he didn't need it moved at the moment so the vehicle was not towed. Dispatch made an attempt to locate the owner of the vehicle with no success. The officer was dispatched to the address later when the complainant needed to leave his residence. The vehicle was towed to the MVPD impound lot and secured into evidence.

9/31/17 - An officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of shoplifting. When the officer arrived at the scene, he spoke with Marinda Rittenhouse who admitted stealing several items from the store. Rittenhouse was placed under arrest and transported to the Knox County Jail. A search of Rittenhouse incident to the arrest revealed a syringe in her purse. Rittenhouse was charged with petty theft and possession of drug abuse instruments.

8/30/17 - Jeremy Silliman, 37, W. Vine St. was arrested for domestic violence.

8/31 17 - Dean Looney, 34, Fredericktown, was cited for operator/ chauffeur license required and cited for drive/park on the sidewalk, curb, st, lawn.

8/31/17 - Clyde Ulry, 36, Zanesville, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.

8/31/17 - Marinda Rittenhouse, 32, Northview Dr. was arrested and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and charged with theft.

8/31/17 - Ryan DeWyze, 33, E. Ohio Ave. was cited for driving under a FRA suspension.

8/31/17 - Jennifer Blankenship, 39, E. Ohio Ave. was cited for expired or unlawful plates and cited for counterfeit plates

Traffic accidents

8/30/17 - Robert Michael Cornwell, II pulled into a parking space and the right rear tire made contact with an unoccupied vehicle in the space next to it. Cornwell attempted to find the owner of the unoccupied vehicle in the nearby business but was unsuccessful. When he returned the previously unoccupied vehicle was gone.

8/31/17 - Scott D. O'Donnell was traveling through the ATM drive-thru of the Huntington Bank on S. Main St. when part of the cargo that was in the rear of the unit hit the ATM sign, damaging it.

Knox Co. law reports Aug. 30, 2017

8/29/17 - An officer spoke with the complainant at the KCSO. The complainant reported that someone had tried to open up a line of credit using her name and other information pertaining to her.

8/29/17 - An officer responded to a Coshocton Road business and spoke to the complainant who reported that person(s) unknown had removed a mower. The removal occurred sometime between 11:00 PM on 3/3/17 and 10:00AM on 6/6/17. The absence of the mower was noticed during an inventory done on this date. The officer advised the complainant the mower would be entered into LEADS and a report would be written to document the incident.

8/29/17 - An officer was advised that Thomas J. Carpenter had an active warrant and was trying to get a vehicle out of impound but had left. Later it was reported that Carpenter was back at the impound area. He was located by an officer and arrested on the warrant out of Mount Vernon Municipal Court. Carpenter was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

8/29/17 - The Ohio State Highway Patrol advised one of their pilots had located marijuana growing in a corn field off of Brinkhaven Rd. The marijuana was located, pulled from the field and placed into evidence for destruction.

8/29/17 - The complainant called the KCSO and advised that when she returned home from work she noticed her back door had been broken into. The complainant left her residence and waited for law enforcement to arrive. After officers inspected the residence and found no one in it, the complainant returned and found several items missing.

8/28/17 - Complainant found a crack pipe in the bathroom of the BMV on N. Sandusky St. The pipe was collected for disposal.

8/28/17 - An officer arrived on the scene of the incident and the complainant stated someone had entered his unlocked barn and had stolen a Stihl chainsaw. He also stated gas cans outside his garage had been moved. A report was done for insurance purposes. The victim was given some tips to secure his property. The victim was unsure when the chainsaw was stolen from his property.

8/28/17 - A deputy made contact with Christopher A. Hutton. Hutton had an active warrant out of Mount Vernon Municipal Court. Hutton was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail where he was released to jail staff.

8/30/17 - The complainant advised that person(s) unknown had removed his aluminum trailer from his yard. This happened sometime in the past week. The complainant added that he did not give anyone permission to take the trailer. The trailer was entered into LEADS as stolen.

8/30/17 - An officer made contact with a complainant in Apple Valley who stated her cell phone had been stolen when she was in Mansfield. She contacted Verizon about it and they told her the phone could not be activated by the person who stole it. She said she later got an alert that the phone had been activated. She again contacted Verizon. She was advised to contact her bank to see about getting new accounts since her banking information was on the stolen phone. The complainant wanted to make a report locally in case anything happens to her bank accounts.

8/30/17 - The KCSO received a call from a complainant in Frazeysburg who stated someone had vandalized his tractor and stolen gas from it. The complainant was told a report would be made for documentation.

8/30/17 - The complainant called the KCSO and advised she had found a hypodermic needle n the roadway. An officer responded to the incident location and located the hypodermic needle. The needle was collected and placed into the sharps container in car #24 for disposal.

8/31/17 - Brittany L. Wheeler was arrested at a Harcourt Rd. location on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was out of the Mount Vernon Municipal Court. Wheeler was transported to the Knox County Jail and released to the jail staff.

8/31/17 - Tyler G. Jacobs was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Delaware County, Ohio, Municipal; Court for petty theft and receiving stolen property. Tyler was handcuffed and transported to the Knox/Delaware county line where he was released to Genoa police without incident.

Two arrested in Danville as part of ongoing drug investigation

DANVILLE - On Monday August 28, 2017 Knox County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit Officers, assisted by the Danville Police Department arrested two individuals in connection with an ongoing drug investigation conducted in Danville.

In a news release Sheriff David Shaffer said officers arrested 37 year old Lisa Sharp and 48 year old Charles DeVault. Both had been staying at a residence on Ross Street in Danville.

They are currently being held on probation violations, with additional charges expected to be filed.
