On 8-7-17, an officer spoke with the complainant/victim who advised him that unknown person(s) used his personal information to open an account with AT&T. This happened sometime between 6-25-17 and 8-7-17. A report was written to document the incident.

On 8-7-17, a deputy spoke with the complainant/victim by telephone. She advised the deputy that unknown person(s) had removed a ring from her golf bag while she was at Chapel Hill Golf Course. She advised the theft took place sometime between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM on July 29, 2017. The deputy advised the complainant that a report would be written to document the incident.

 

On 8-4-17, an officer was dispatched to Martinsburg in response to an attempted burglary report. The complainant told the officer that someone had tried to break into her home on E. Pleasant St. The officer told the complainant that a report would be made for documentation. There is no suspect in the incident.

On 8-5-17, Jeffrey A. Middleton was observed riding a white bike along the side of the road on W. High St. The officer had dispatch run Middleton through the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) and dispatch advised Middleton had an active warrant for probation violation. The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested and searched Middleton. He was taken to the Knox County Jail and released to the jail staff.

On 8-6-17, the complainant reported discovering a bullet hole in a bedroom wall and a bullet in the closet at a residence on Vance Rd. in Mount Vernon. A hole was discovered on the west side of the house where it appeared an unknown person had shot a gun into the house.

Fredericktown PD issues AEP scam alert

FREDERICKTOWN - The FPD has received four complaints from local businesses and residents who have become the victims of an ongoing AEP (American Electric Power) scam.

AEP Ohio never demands immediate payment, never insists on a prepaid credit cards and never asks you to meet them in a non-authorized payment location.

Follow these tips to recognize scams and help keep you safe:

*If you're told your account is past due, check your account's status online.

*Only make payments to authorized AEP Ohio agents or through AEPOhio.com.

*AEP employees are always willing to show their company ID.  Just ask.  If in doubt call AEP at 1-800-672-2231.

On 7-31-17, a complainant reported finding a hypodermic needle. He stated he found it buried in gravel near his residence on E. High St. He thought, at first, that it was a pen, but when he picked it up he found it was a needle. The needle was collected by an officer and placed in the sharps container in patrol car #5 for destruction at a later date.

On 7-31-17, an officer met with a female complainant who wanted to report as she had been assaulted by her sister while at an Oak St. residence. The complainant made a written statement and photographs of the scratches on her neck, allegedly caused by her sister, were taken. Sometime later the complainant's sister came to the MVPD station to make a statement as well. Both statements and this report will be sent to the City Law Director's Office for review. Both parties were advised to avoid each other.

On 7-28-17, Connie Blubaugh, 31, Ringold St. was arrested and charged with theft and criminal trespass.

On 7-31-17, Dakota Hawk, 19, Danville was cited for running a red light.

On 7-31-17, Jeremy Silliman, 37, W. Vine St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
