On 7-28-17, the complainant advised he observed the doors open on a small utility shed at the incident location. The shed had contained a push mower of unknown make and model. The lock on the doors had been cut off and the mower stolen.

On 7-29-17, the complainant called the KCSO to report that sometime between 7-25 and 7-26-17 unknown person(s) removed several items from the trunk of his car while it was parked on S. Hartford St. in the Village of Centerburg. The complainant stated that almost all of his golf equipment was removed, including a set of Calloway DX Golf Clubs. Also taken were a camcorder, a Gamin GPS unit and a Tec Tec Tec rangefinder. There are no suspects.

On 7-29-17, officers were dispatched to the Beulah United Methodist Church at 8261 Columbus Rd. at Keys Rd. The complainant stated someone had attempted to break into the church. A report of the incident was made to document it.

On 7-30-17, an officer was dispatched to a domestic violence call at an East St. address in Howard. James Johnson was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

On 7-29-17, both vehicles were northbound on N. Gay St. Stephenie G. Maggert stopped at the stop sign at Wooster Rd. then pulled up a little farther. Timothy P. Stickle pulled forward while looking toward the west and struck Maggert in the rear. Stickle was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

On 7-30-17, Sheena L. Griffith and Donald W. Demorest were traveling eastbound on W. High St. Demorest stopped for traffic and Griffith failed to stop striking Demorest. Griffith was cited with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

On 7-30-17, A vehicle owned by Mark W. Coe was parked in a parking space and when he returned 20 minutes later there was damage to the driver's side of the car. The suspect is unknown.

On 7-28-17, Philip L. Stewart was traveling westbound on E. Gambier St. and Brock A. Casner was stopped northbound on Compromise St. at E. Gambier St. Stewart proceeded to turn southbound onto Compromise St. He cut the turn too sharply and struck Casner in the front end. Stewart drove over the top of Casner's hood and windshield causing him to roll over onto the right side of Compromise St.

On 7-28-17, Sandra L. Alnutt and Tonja L. Sheller were turning eastbound out of Arby's onto Coshocton Ave. Sheller stopped for traffic and Alnutt failed to stop, hitting Sheller. Alnutt was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

On 7-29-17, Craig M. Capwell, Jr. and Kimberly S. Miller were traveling southbound on Martinsburg Rd. Miller stopped for traffic and Capwell failed to see Miller stopped and struck him in the rear end. Capwell was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

On 7-29-17, Janet L. Rockwell was traveling northbound on Vernonview Dr. Christopher W. Houston was attempting to pull out of a parking lot and struck Rockwell. Houston was cited with failure to yield when driving onto a roadway.

Incidents

On 7-28-17, an act of vandalism was reported to the MVPD. The incident occurred at 250 Liberty St. and involved damage to two, toilets.

On 7-28-17, an individual reported a found syringe on East Chestnut St. The syringe was located by an officer and placed into the sharps container in cruiser #7.

On 7-28-17, an officer responded to an E. Sugar St. address on a reported disturbance. When the officer arrived he observed an open door to the basement. Entry was made and the basement was cleared. The complainant was located upstairs and he stated his brother had been on the property after being evicted. A witness statement was completed and a report taken. The suspect had fled the area prior to the officer's arrival.

On 7-28-17, an officer responded to 855 Coshocton Ave. in reference to a shoplifting complaint. When the officer arrived the complainant advised there was a female in the store stealing items and should be walking out anytime. The officer made contact with the suspect outside the store and escorted her back into the store. The suspect was compliant and returned the stolen merchandise. A summons was issued for petty theft and criminal trespass.

On 7-28-17, an officer responded to a Spring St. residence in reference to a vandalism incident. The complainant stated that unknown person(s) broke the passenger side window of his 1999 Ford minivan. The complainant stated the damage occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The complainant stated that just before the damage occurred he had a disagreement with his neighbor about parking in his driveway. The officer spoke to the neighbor who denied any conversation with the complainant or that he damaged the vehicle. The investigation continues.

On 7-29-17, an officer responded to a Follin Ave. address on a reported theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who said she believed that, while she was shopping at Walmart, someone stole her diaper bag from her vehicle. A witness statement was collected and a report was taken.

On 7-29-17, an individual reported she found several hypodermic needles in an apartment she was helping to clean out on Calhoun St. The needles were collected and placed into the sharps container in patrol car #8.

On 7-30-17, an officer located Tracy Hagans who was trespassing in Phillips Park and UPI after hours. He was arrested and charged with possessing a drug abuse instrument.

On 7-30-17, an officer responded to 1005 Coshocton Ave. on a reported shoplifting. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who stated a female with blonde hair left the store without paying for merchandise. She left the area in a green truck with a male driver. A witness statement was collected and a report completed. There are no suspects at this time.

On 7-27-17, an officer was advised of a trespass incident at a Harrison Ave. address. While en route the officer was requested to detain the suspect by an officer with the Adult Parole Authority, The suspect was located and a report was written.

On 7-27-17, while at the municipal building, a deputy noticed David Messer get on the elevator. The officer radioed dispatch to check Messer for warrants. Dispatch advised he did have a warrant out of Knox County. The officer made contact with Messer on the 3rd floor at the probation dept. Messer was advised of the warrant and arrested. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

On 7-27-17, an officer was dispatched to a Stump St. address on a report of a burglary. The victim advised the officer that someone had broken into his home, stealing multiple tools. The officer advised the victim that a report would be made for documentation.

On 7-28-17, the complainant called and advised that he was fishing at Knox Lake when he heard his car alarm go off. Believing someone was trying to break into his car, he called the KCSO. When an officer arrived it was found that someone had thrown a rock through the front passenger window.

On 7-27-17, two officers responded to a W. Chestnut address on a report of domestic violence.

On 7-27-17, an officer responded to 855 Coshocton Ave, in reference to a shoplifting incident. The loss prevention employee had apprehended Robert Smith shoplifting 2 packages of size D batteries. He also located a glass marijuana pipe in his pocket. Smith was read his Miranda Rights and admitted to taking the two packs of batteries. He also admitted that he had a glass pipe for smoking marijuana.

On 7-27-17, Daniel Martin, 48, W. Chestnut St. was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

On 7-27-17, Andrew Pitkiewicz, 32, W. Sugar St. was arrested for receiving stolen property.

On 7-27-17, John Hoskins, 52, Beech St. was arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting.

On 7-27-17, Timothy Davis, 57, Columbus Rd. was arrested for failure to control/weaving.

Traffic accident

On 7-27-17, Timothy R. Davis was southbound on N. Main St. and drove into a tree on the right side of the roadway. Parts propelled from the front of Davis' car, upon impacting the tree, struck the rear of a vehicle owned by Nathan L. Fox which was parked and driverless on the right side of the roadway in the area of 301 N. Main St.

On 7-21-17, an officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. address in reference to an act of vandalism. Contact was made with the complainant who advised that an unknown person messed with her car and it wouldn't start. It was discovered that a fuse had been pulled and a prong was broken off. The fuse was put back in its socket. The investigation is pending and this report will be supplemented with additional information.

On 7-22-17, an officer responded to a Cliff St. address in reference to an assault complaint. When the officer arrived on the scene he spoke with the female who was involved in the incident. She stated she was pushed down the stairs by her boyfriend. The officer later made contact with the boyfriend during a traffic stop. He told the officer his girlfriend fell down the stairs earlier in the day. The officer also spoke with two witnesses who stated the female told them she had fallen down the stairs. This report will be forwarded to the prosecutor for charges.

On 7-23-17, an officer responded to the Apostolic Christian Church on Old Delaware Rd. in reference to a burglary complaint. The complainant told the officer that $1,442.80 was stolen from the sanctuary building. While on the scene the officer noticed fresh forced-entry damage to the back door. This report will be forwarded to the detective division for further investigation.

On 7-23-17, units were dispatched to the area of East Sugar and North McKenzie streets in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female involved in the incident and she advised everything was fine. Officers also located the vehicle involved in the incident. The vehicle had fictitious plates that were expired. The vehicle was also missing the ignition. it appeared that someone had been starting the vehicle with a screwdriver. The vehicle was impounded.

On 7-24-17, an officer responded to a N. Sandusky St. address in reference to vandalism. The investigation continues.

On 7-24-17, an officer met with the complainant who reported checks were stolen from her residence on Parrot St. sometime in July. The complainant said she became aware of the theft when she was contacted by the City of Delaware Police Department who told her that two suspects had been taken into custody for attempting to use the checks. The suspects were reported to her top be in the Delaware County Jail. The complainant made a written statement and was given this report number for reference. A copy of this report was forwarded to the Detective Division for informational purposes.

On 7-24-17, officers responded to an E. Sugar St. address in reference to a trespassing complaint. The complainant stated that his brother, Colton Hill, who had recently been evicted from the residence, had just come through the back door. Hill was located in the bathroom and was placed under arrest. He was then transported to the Knox County Jail where he was incarcerated. Charges were filed.

On 7-24-17, an officer met with the complainant at his residence on W. Gambier St. on a report of found drugs. The complainant pointed out a syringe and a small black flashlight on his porch. The syringe was in a resealable plastic bag and was placed in the sharps container of car #8 for disposal. The Bushnell flashlight was checked and placed into evidence as found property.

On 7-21-17, Vada R. Clark was traveling southbound in the Autozone parking lot and drove over a parking block, into a concrete post, across the sidewalk and into the front driver's side of a vehicle owned by Michael A. Needles who was parked facing eastbound in the Autozone Parking lot.

On 7-22-17, Hanna E. Cecil was pulling out of the Kroger parking lot and Jamie L. Hillis was pulling out of Buffalo Wild Wings. They collided in the middle of the intersection in Vernonview Dr.

On 7-24-17, Andrew Bradley Upton was eastbound on Coshocton Ave. and David K. Dahlstein was stopped for the red light at Highland Dr. eastbound on Coshocton Ave. when he was struck by Upton. Upton was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

On 7-25-17, Jennifer Kay Waller was arrested at her residence on Met-O-Wood Lane in Gambier on an outstanding warrant out of Licking County. The warrant was for failure to appear in Licking County Municipal Court on a charge of criminal damaging/endangering.

On 7-24-17, deputies were dispatched to the hog barn at the Knox County Fair on a disturbance. Dispatch advised that Bryan D. Passick was arguing with the victim and that the victim had a criminal protection order against Passick. He was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail.

On 7-24-17, the complainant advised that her home on Vanatta Rd. in Centerburg was broken into while she slept. She reported several items were taken from her home and car.

On 7-25-17 deputies responded to a Columbus Rd. address on a man chasing people with a baseball bat and a knife. Timothy Dugger was tasered and arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting and resisting arrest. Wendy Mathiasen was arrested for obstruction of official business.

On 7-26-17, an officer was dispatched to Harrison Ave. on a report of a child playing in the street. The officer made contact with the complainant who advised that the child's mother had left her child playing in the street. The officer made contact with Kayla K. Alcott, the mother, and arrested her for child endangering. A report will be made for documentation.

On 7-26-17, a theft was reported at 855 Coshocton Ave. The complainant advised a female suspect was seen removing miscellaneous items from shelves. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for them. The investigation continues.

On 7-26-17, a theft was reported at 855 Coshocton Ave. The complainant advised a male suspect entered the store and attempted to leave without paying for the items he selected. The suspect was apprehended and issued a court summons for petty theft.

On 7-26-17, while handling an unrelated call on W. High St. an officer was informed by another resident that a syringe was found in the grass on the west side of the building. The syringe was collected and placed in the sharps container of car #8.

On 7-26-17, an officer met with a female complainant on Follin Ave involving the theft of the birth certificates and Social Security cards of her two young children. The complainant stated that her birth certificate was stolen as well. The items were kept on a shelf in the residence and may have disappeared as far back as May 2017. The complainant stated she keeps her Social Security card in her wallet and it was not missing. She does not believe the theft occurred by anyone wanting to use her children's information for fraudulent purposes. She stated she had recently received information from another party that a former friend may have taken the items and thrown them in the trash. The complainant plans to obtain new birth certificates and Social Security cards. She was told to follow up with the officer if additional information became available. The officer also advised her about how to obtain a copy of this report.

On 7-26-17, Kirt Lacey, 32, Gambier was cited for running a stop sign.

On 7-23-17, deputies responded to Vincent Rd. near Coshocton Rd. to assist an off-duty officer. Information was gathered and deputies arrested Troy J. Dupler for aggravated menacing.

On 7-23-17, an officer was dispatched to a Harrison Ave., address to follow up for the Mount Vernon Police Dept. Michael A. Puluso was identified as having an outstanding warrant and was arrested.

On 7-22-17, an officer was dispatched to the Harcourt Motel in reference to a disturbance. When the officer arrived he made contact with Brittany Leigh Steele who had an outstanding warrant out of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. Steele was arrested and transported to Knox County Jail.

On 7-22-17. the complainant reported that a known customer of the store shoplifted. The item was recovered and the suspect was charged with theft and obstruction of official business.
